About me
I have over 15 years of experience working with adults as well as teenagers and families. The types of issues that I treat include: anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, anger management, self-injurious behaviour, low self-esteem, trauma, grief and life transitions.
I believe that people are best able to make sense of how their experiences impact their present lives when they feel seen and heard within a respectful therapeutic relationship. I provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space in which you can explore your emotional difficulties, identify any patterns, and draw on your strengths to move forward with your life.
As an Integrative therapist, my approach is humanistic and individualised for each client. I draw from psychodynamic, relational, systems theory, strength-based and person-centered approaches as well as CBT. I have additional training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) as well as being a Clinical Trauma Professional and trained in TF-CBT.
In your first sessions we will explore the issues that are effecting you and work together to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Many clients I see are struggling with their emotions, I often use Dialectical Behavioural Therapy in my practice. With DBT we'll explore ways to help you identify and manage your emotions. During these initial sessions we will build a relationship and develop trust before moving on to exploring deeper issues.
I know that taking the first step towards therapy can be difficult. I offer a free initial video consultation so you can have a chance to connect with me before a first session. We can discuss what brought you to seek support, what your hopes are for therapy and you can ask me any questions about how I work.
